13 courts of first instance, 2 administrative courts and 1 appellate court for the whole country. This is the proposal of the High Judicial Council for the new court map in the country after months of consultations with stakeholders. The only difference from the previous proposal is the addition of a first instance court in Saranda that was removed with the previous proposal.
The Chamber of Advocates has confirmed the boycott of the judiciary due to the opposition to the new map which in this district out of 4 courts let only one of them function.
DP MP, Greta Bardeli through a Facebook post has stated that she is against this decision of the HJC to remove from the map the Court of Appeals and Administrative Court of First Instance of Shkodra.
MP's post:
As a member of the Law Commission and a member of parliament, I AM AGAINST the decision of the HJC to remove the Court of Appeals and Administrative Court of First Instance of Shkodra from the map.
A decision that directly affects the interest and rights of our fellow citizens!
Together with our opposition colleagues in the Law Commission, we request a hearing as soon as possible with the High Judicial Council, the High Prosecution Council, the Ministry of Justice, the National Chamber of Advocates, the People's Advocate and the Albanian Helsinki Committee, regarding the Map. New Judicial.
According to us, this judicial reorganization is related to a fundamental right related to access to justice, guaranteed by Article 42 of the Constitution of Albania and Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights. Consequently, it is the duty of the Assembly to consider this issue of interest to our citizens!
