The government has not yet authorized the payment of 13 million Euros to the father-in-law of Lulzim Basha and other shareholders of the collapsed building in the area of Cold Water in Vlora.
The palace was demolished by order of Edi Rama, but the owners won compensation in the amount of 13 million euros in the Strasbourg Court.
But apparently, the money has not yet gone into the pockets of the owners.
Therefore, the plaintiff has taken the case to the Council of Europe, whose ministers have recently called on the Albanian authorities to ensure the full payment of the compensation awarded by the European Court of Human Rights to the case of Xhuvi Sharxhi, Xhafer Isufi and others, together with late interest.
"The case concerns the demolition of a building in defiance of a temporary court order and in violation of the plaintiff's property rights, right to a fair trial, right to respect for property and right to effective legal remedies .
Albania is obliged to implement the final decisions of the Court and according to Article 46 of the European Convention on Human Rights, the ministers approved an Interim Resolution (*) expressing their deep concern for the non-payment", the KiE letter reads. .
They asked the Albanian authorities to involve the applicants or their representatives in discussions regarding the payment and asked them to provide the Committee of Ministers with information on the measures taken to ensure the payment of the just remuneration without further delay and in any case until March 31, 2024./ VoxNews
