The statements of the philo-Greek journalist Stavri Marko have caused a debate on the show "Opinion". He said that the flag of Vorio Epiri is a symbol of Himara's independence.
This caused the reaction of Ardi Bido, who said that Borshi was burned with that flag and more than 10,000 Albanians died. Referring to the flag of Vorio Epirus, Bido said that it was created in 1914 and did not exist before.
But the statements of journalist Marko did not stop there. When asked by Bido if there were pro-Albanians or pro-Greeks in Dhërmi, where Marko originates, the journalist replied that Dhërmi is 99.99% Greek population.
But this has again brought the answer of Professor Bido.
"In the area of ??Himara Municipality, there are three villages with fluidity of ethnic identity, which is Himara, a village, not a city, Dhërmiu and Palasa, which a part of the population of those villages have always self-identified as Greek. In this study, I analyze how many there are. It turns out that this figure is 14.5% of Himara Municipality. It has been static since the 30s in every case that a test of the local population has been done, including the 2011 census, which has not had a boycott in this municipality," he said.
Excerpts from the debate:
Ardit Bido:This flag was created in 1914. This flag is the flag of the burning of Borsh, of the killing of 10 thousand Albanians, of the expulsion of 1/3 of the Albanians of the southeast where Mr. Kaso originates from, where I originate from, where you also originate from. 1/3 of those Albanians were expelled around Vlora. Over 10,000 Albanians have died with this flag and this is a created flag, it did not exist. That vulture between the two heads of the Byzantine Empire and the Orthodox Church that has nothing to do with Himara. Even we two-headed vultures have in our flag that you are surprising us. Even Himara had the two-headed vulture on its flag, which is the Albanian flag that Jorgo Spiro Koleka raised in the 20s, that many Albanian patriots of Vunoi, a compact patriotic Albanian village, of Grillo, of Anagnostve, raised it themselves, since I hear Albanian surnames that are very popular. I did not know the Greek Grillot and Anagnost. I want to congratulate you and Mr. Marko because you give us the opportunity for the public to see and know that here we are not dealing with a matter of votes either, that in Himara the Greek votes do not exceed 15%, and Beleri did not win because of this. but for completely different reasons. So that they understand that this debate is a debate related to criminal acts, visible, of violating the territorial integrity of this country of people who have their minds on that flag as Mr. Marko says, who have their minds to defend those who have killed Albanians, they killed 10 thousand Albanians, they burned Borshi, which is part of Himara Municipality today. Here we are not dealing with a normal debate and I am sorry that you present Mr. Marko as a journalist, I do not know how to be one. I don't know what media you work in. He has an extreme Greek nationalist thesis that has nothing to do with today's debate. The question for Mr. Marko is very simple. In your Himara, in your Dhërmi, because there are three Greek-speaking villages there, let the public know. It is Himara, Dhërmiu, Palasa. It is not Vunoi, Piluri, Qeparoi, they are none of these others, they are Albanian without ethnic fluidity. In your Dhërmi, where you come from, were there "pendecuq" and "pendebardha"? Were there pro-Albanians and pro-Greeks? That in Vuno you don't find pro-Greeks, but in Dhërmi there were pro-Albanians and pro-Greeks since you are talking about history? they are Albanian without ethnic fluidity. In your Dhërmi, where you come from, were there "pendecuq" and "pendebardha"? Were there pro-Albanians and pro-Greeks? Stavri Marko : Dhermiu is 99.99% Greek population.
Ardit Bido: Petro Marko, your distant cousin who claimed to be Albanian, what was he?
Stavri Marko : Leave Petro, where have you been? You were a milkman when Petro was an artist, man.
Ardit Bido: I have read Petro Marko. You didn't know it for yourself.
You are a very distant cousin, don't sell yourself as Petro Marko's nephew because you are not.
Ardit Bido: You are too young to know these things.
Stavri Marko: That Albanians know their surnames because they are well known. The Gjikuri are from Dhërmiu, the Dunes are from Dhërmiu. Marko is from Dhërmiu. So that the Albanians can hear who these compact Greeks are who are declaring themselves.
