Prime Minister Edi Rama is trying to bring messages of coexistence, honesty and peace across the border to Greece, where local politicians have been quaking the vicious rhetoric with threats and blackmails against Albania and Albanians for several months.
While no further than today Greek Prime Minister Qirjako Michotakis declared that Albania-Greece relations are being reversed, and threatened to block EU integration, Rama has chosen to respond in a different way.
He shared on Facebook the square that is building the "Urban Renaissance" in the minority village of Dervican in Dropull. It will also be placed the bust of the Greek prime minister's father, which today threatens the future of the Albanian people.
"The Urban Renaissance shipyard in the heart of Dervican, the center of the municipality of Dropull, which will bear the name of Constantinos Mitsotakis, the first Greek prime minister to visit the minority after the fall of communism," Rama writes.
There was no shortage of stinging comments about this situation. Someone writes to Rame that today he put a Greek name on a square on Albanian soil, but he should be careful that tomorrow greeks raise territorial claims over that square.
