It has been described as one of the most unique but also the saddest battles within the Democratic Party, as one of them will remain outside parliament.

We are talking about Jorida Tabaku and Ilir Alimehmeti, both names on the open list of the Democratic Party and the two most voted candidates in Tirana.

However, the 13 mandates of the DP in Tirana mean that names on the closed list such as Tedi Blushi, Klevis Balliu, Erisa Xhixho and Mesila Doda are entered into parliament. Only one seat remains from the open list of candidates with preferential votes.

And so far, it turns out that Tabaku has widened the difference by 9,209 votes compared to 8,782 votes for Alimehmet.
