Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and several opposition MPs who accompanied him were not allowed to be part of the meeting at the Economy Committee, as they were excluded for 10 days.
After leaving the Parliament building, Berisha denounced the behavior of the majority, saying that 5 or 6 opposition deputies were locked in the elevator, which could result in a breakdown.
The draft budget of 2024 and the fiscal package are being discussed in the Economy Committee, and the meeting is expected to continue "online".
"This building, apart from the time of Hoxha, has not been occupied by the Police and the Guard. Shameful act. The opposition MPs, the so-called president, created an attempt which will be investigated, because she closed the door at a time when 5-6 of them were in the elevator on the fourth floor, that in case of any kind of breakdown, they could end up on the first floor by order of her.
This shows that the Parliament has lost any right to function. They have passed into the calendistinity for the approval of the budget. They went to a club, bar, and there they are approving the budget", declared Berisha.
