Analyst Baton Haxhiu has stated that the United States of America influenced Great Britain's decision to declare former Prime Minister Sali Berisha "non grata".

In an interview for "Euronews Albania", Haxhiu said that the USA is a great ally of Great Britain and they have asked them to impose sanctions on Berisha.

According to him, the USA did not succeed in separating the democratic electorate from Berisha after the declaration of non grata by the State Department in May 2021.

"The United States of America, it seems, have not succeeded in convincing the pulpit and pulpits that something serious is happening in Albanian politics and they do not tolerate the disdain shown to them for the decision they made. For sure, they haven't found the European space or the European states enough to support their idea, for the reason that European states have a hard time with the term 'non grata' as a concept.

And they have found Britain especially for the fact that it is outside the European Community. Great Britain is the old ally of the United States of America and this is a blow which was probably requested by the great ally, the United States of America" , according to Haxhiu.

Sali Berisha declared this Friday that he has been banned from entering the territory of Great Britain. According to him, the decision is in the wake of Soros-sponsored defamation.

The reasoning that Berisha took for this decision was the links with organized crime groups and criminals who have posed a risk to public safety in Albania and Britain and corruption.

Despite the fact that the decision is confidential, Berisha emphasized that he made it public for the Albanian citizens, with whom he has always been truthful.
