The Supreme Court will review on July 16 the appeal of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, who is seeking the termination of the security measure "suspension from duty".
Balluku appealed to the Supreme Court after her request to lift this measure was initially rejected by the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC) and then by the SCOC Appeals Court.
Judge Ilir Panda has been appointed rapporteur for the case.
Meanwhile, the investigations against Balluk have expanded. In addition to the accusation of violating equality in tenders, the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) has also registered him as a person under investigation for criminal offenses of corruption and money laundering.
According to SPAK, the suspicions relate to two procurement procedures worth over 1 million euros, carried out during the period when Balluku headed Albcontrol.
The prosecution claims that the tenders were won illegally by a construction company, while in exchange Balluku received a bribe of a villa in Dhërmi worth 145 thousand euros. The property was seized by a decision of the GJKKO.
