The Special Court of Appeals has upheld the sentence against Greta Gjoci (Pepa), definitively sentencing her to 6 years and 8 months in prison, in the context of the call center case run by Bruno Çobo.

The decision of October 5, 2026 upheld the first instance decision for the 16 defendants in this case, while another legal battle has already opened for Gjoci: the postponement of the execution of the sentence.

Sources for VoxNews claimed that Greta Gjoci is the mother of a 4-month-old baby.

This very circumstance was part of the defense's request, which was addressed to the court on October 5, requesting a postponement of the execution of the criminal verdict.

The operator is punished as much as the "heads" of the call center

In decision no. 66, dated October 27, 2025, the Special Court of First Instance declared Greta Gjoci guilty of "computer fraud" in special collaboration, in the form of a structured criminal group, as well as for the criminal offense of "structured criminal group".

For the main offense, the court imposed a sentence of 10 years in prison, while for participation in the structured criminal group, 2 years in prison.

After joining the sentences and applying a reduction of one-third due to the summary trial, the final sentence was set at 6 years and 8 months of imprisonment.

The court also determined that the execution of the sentence would begin with the execution of the house arrest measure and that the sentence would be served in a high-security institution.

The defense requests a postponement of the sentence due to the baby:

Greta Gjoci's lawyer has addressed the court with a request to postpone the execution of the sentence, referring to article 476, point 1, letter "b" of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

This provision provides for the possibility of postponing execution when a convicted woman is pregnant or has a child under the age of one.

So, the new legal battle is not related to innocence or the change of the sentence of 6 years and 8 months.

It relates to the timing and manner in which this sentence will be executed. The defense requests that the court take into consideration the family circumstances and the age of the baby.

Mother with 4-month-old baby escorted to prison

Greta Pepa was escorted to the prison today, accompanied by her 4-month-old baby.

Sources for VoxNews said that Greta Pepa worked as a call center operator. She does not appear to have been the owner of the call center nor the leader of the group. In the file for which she was convicted, Bruno Çobo is identified as the leader of the group, who received the highest sentence, 8 years in prison, while employee Greta Gjoci was sentenced to 6 years and 8 months.

Another detail confirmed by Vox News relates to Greta Pepa's financial situation. She has been living in a rented apartment for years.

A mother who enters the prison with a four-month-old baby raises a question that is no longer only related to Greta Pepa's guilt, but practically the Appeal of the GJKKO has sent the 4-month-old baby to prison as well.

Bruno Çobo's file

Greta Gjoci is one of the 16 people convicted in Bruno Çobo's case, which involves a fraud scheme through call centers and damages against Italian citizens.

According to the indictment, the defendants were not prosecuted simply for the fact that they worked in the call center, but for their involvement, according to the roles determined by the prosecution and accepted by the court, in the criminal offenses of computer fraud and structured criminal group.

The Appeal Court of Criminal Appeals decided to uphold the sentences imposed by the first instance.
