Rajmonda Xhafa, the daughter of the aunt of the famous singer, Parashqevi Simaku , has recounted in an interview the bitter American story of the iconic singer of Albanian music.

A video posted online of her receiving aid stirred Albanians, but above all her family members, who have had no contact with her for more than a decade.

For the last time, the aunt's daughter says that they met with Parashqevi Simaku in 1997 when the singer came to Albania and since then she has left, never to return.

After this period, Simaku faced numerous challenges, culminating in a divorce from her husband around 2006, who also took custody of her son, Luka, who is now 22 years old.

"The truth is, she came here before '97 because she was going to give a concert with her husband. He reached the mess and told my aunt, come inside because hooligans are coming. They say hooligans in Albanian. When it was '97. My mother is waiting for the ticket so they can leave urgently because there is a mess in Albania. You will leave in three days, she says. They got married in America, my aunt showed us the video. She gave birth to the child, Luka. My aunt went for a year and they didn't see her passport that she has to stamp every 6 months and she was expelled. She never set foot in America again, she has shed tears all her life because she never saw that child again. She went and her brother stayed for a year. Somewhere arguments started, she made some albums in English. It didn't work out, they divorced. She took her son away. We learned from the evidence, we haven't communicated with her for years. It's been many years. My aunt wouldn't let us. Because my uncle said to look for him at Aida Shtino. "No," said her mother, "don't mention my girlfriend's name. Everyone is tired of looking for her, my brother's daughter-in-law, my brother's girlfriend in France." He replied harshly, "Come on, take her because I don't want her anymore, I've got someone else. One day you'll find her in the trash cans," he said. We were very upset. She left once more, crossed France, but they turned her back. I contacted a journalist once, he gave me an address in Manhattan. We looked for her, but we couldn't find her," she tells Report TV. 

Rajmonda Xhafa says that her family has made numerous attempts to find her, but everything has been unsuccessful. According to them, the singer has no contact with her son or the rest of the family.

"They told us that she went into depression because of her son. She was very attached to her son, she paid for it with her own head. It was the pleasure of these people. She stayed at my house in Durrës. Aman, they say to me, you sleep on the floor, I'll sleep in the bed. I only told her bad things to be successful. She is a very good person, but misfortune leads her to this degree. Çuni is 22 years old today, she probably doesn't have any contact with her son. They say that she went through partial paralysis, she has the pain of her son. She used to say to her brother's girlfriend, Roberto: Come on, I don't have any money to pay the rent because I got married and took another woman. I don't know why she left him, at least he was inside the house. What can a mother do when she doesn't have her child in her arms. She is meant to be, we know her voice, her facial expressions, her face. Please help her reunite with her child. Her mother is dead, she has had no contact. She never spoke to her mother, she died with a wounded soul from her daughter. Her father died early, he had surgery in America, he had it there. She sometimes spoke to her brother's daughter-in-law, she told her that the teachers had kicked her out of school. They told her that if you come here once, you will be sentenced to three months in prison if you approach the boy. At first, she had a good time with her husband. We haven't seen her since '97. She spoke to her brother's daughter-in-law sometimes very rarely. I beg the state very much, since she has contributed, she was a good singer. To do something, to reunite her with her son. She wouldn't come to Albania if she didn't have her son in her eyes. She destroyed herself for that boy. We have no data that she has contacted the boy. I beg anyone who has the opportunity, to help her, to heal her. We were surprised that she spoke Albanian", she tells Report TV.

While Robert Bazhuri, the singer's aunt's son, explains that he tried to connect with her on Facebook.

" I saw that an hour or half an hour earlier she had used messenger. She never answered my phone. I last met her in 1999, I think, when she came for a concert. She went to my brother's house. I was in America with my daughter in Florida 2 years ago," he says. "I did everything I could to contact her, but it was impossible. Albanians there had no contact with her ," he says./Albanian
