The panettone fraud scandal, the decision is made for Chiara Ferragni

The investigations related to the scandal involving the famous Italian influencer, Chiara Ferragni, have been completed.

The Competition and Market Authority in Italy has concluded the Easter egg scandal and the "Balocco" case last year, where Chiara will pay 1.2 million euros to the charity "I Bambini delle Fate" over three years.

In case of non-compliance, in addition to the reopening of the proceedings, a fine of 10 million euros will be applied and if the situation is repeated, it may go as far as closing down the businesses for a short period of time.

Chiara Ferragni herself has reacted publicly through a statement on the company's official profile.

"Following the initiative of the Competition and Market Authority that started the proceedings on the "Easter eggs/Chiara Ferragni" case, the companies TBS Creë Srl and Fenice Srl announce that the investigation has been closed by the Competition and Market Authority, accepting the commitments proposed by the companies and other parties in the process".

The scam is about the charity campaign between Chiara and the company "Balocco". Panettones would be sold in the market at a value of 9 euros, while from the sale of each dessert a part would be donated to the hospital in Turin. When the scandal was revealed, the economic and financial crime authorities in Italy discovered that the "Balocco" company had actually made only one transaction of 50,000 euros in the hospital's account.
