Bill Gates has published on his personal blog a summary of what he expects from 2024, in which he says he is optimistic about the future. The American tycoon, who in recent years has abandoned his image as a successful businessman to portray that of a philanthropist, analyzes what he considers the most important challenges we will face this year.
Artificial Intelligence
The first issue that the founder of Microsoft refers to is Artificial Intelligence. According to Gates, we are experiencing the same thing that happened at the end of the last century with the advent of the Internet, when little by little all people were introducing this new tool into their lives until, a few years later, the Internet "took over ” every house. He says that Artificial Intelligence is still in its infancy, but we can already have an idea of how it will shape the future.
Gates describes how Artificial Intelligence will mainly be used in the coming months. The discovery of new drugs thanks to its ability to collect large amounts of data, the creation of personalized educational tools and the possibility of treating high-risk pregnancies are some of the examples used by Bill Gates.
Wars and crises
Wars also worry Bill Gates. He says his heart goes out to the people of Israel and Palestine, to those in Sudan, Ethiopia and Ukraine, to farmers suffering from climate change and to families suffering from inflation and sluggish economic growth.
Climate change and nuclear energy
Gates says that malnutrition is the problem he would most like to solve, and that his foundation has managed to feed babies with a type of supplement that would help mitigate the effects of malnutrition on the babies' bodies. He also mentions climate change and is once again optimistic about this issue after attending the Climate Summit in Dubai. Gates is committed to using nuclear power as an alternative to non-renewable energy.
