The short film "Two People Exchanging Saliva", starring Albanian actress Luana Bajrami, has won the Best Live Action Short Film award at the Academy Awards ceremony.

There was also an unusual moment in this category, as the award was shared between the two winning films.

In the film, Bajrami plays the lead role in a story set in an "unusual" Paris, where kissing is forbidden and considered a violation of the law, while the characters face an absurd and cold reality.

The victory of this film also places Bajrami's name on the biggest stage of world cinema, marking a special moment for the Albanian actress on the Oscar stage.

Kosovo-Albanian actress Luàna Bajrami has entered the international spotlight after her film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 98th Academy Awards. The winning film, Two People Exchanging Saliva, is a satirical production with dystopian elements that received rave reviews at festivals before finding success in Hollywood.

Luàna Bajrami is a Franco-Kosovar actress and director born in Kosovo, who moved to France at a young age. She began her acting career as a child and gradually became part of important European cinema projects. One of the roles that made her most internationally known was her participation in the film by director Céline Sciamma, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, a production highly praised by critics and various film festivals.

In addition to acting, Bajrami has also been involved in directing and screenwriting. At a very young age, she made her feature film The Hill Where Lionesses Roar, which was presented in the Directors' Fortnight section of the Cannes Film Festival and deals with the lives and challenges of young people in Kosovo.

In the film Two People Exchanging Saliva, Bajrami plays the character Malaise. The story takes place in a fictional world where kissing is forbidden and considered a serious crime, while the economic system operates absurdly through physical punishment. The film is directed by Alexandre Singh and Natalie Musteata.

The victory of this film at the Oscars is considered an important moment for the representation of Albanian artists in the international film industry and has further increased interest in the career of Luàna Bajrami, who is being seen as one of the most promising talents of the new generation in European cinema.
