Life in big cities is often associated with stress: heavy traffic, high cost of living, and the fast pace of everyday life are just some of the factors that affect residents.

However, a recent study shows that urban life doesn't necessarily have to be stressful, if the right city is chosen to live in.

According to an analysis conducted by the company Remitly, the least stressful city to live in in the world is Eindhoven in the Netherlands. The researchers analyzed 170 cities around the world, taking into account several key factors that influence residents' stress levels, such as average commute time in traffic, air pollution, cost of living, quality of healthcare and level of safety.

Eindhoven was the city with the lowest stress level, thanks to a combination of factors that make everyday life more balanced. The city is known as an important technology and innovation center, historically associated with the company Philips. In addition to technological development, it also invests in sustainable projects and aims to use 100% clean energy by 2045.

Also on the list of the least stressful cities to live in are Canberra, Tallinn, Trondheim, Bergen, Utrecht, Groningen, Rotterdam, Porto and Brisbane.

On the other side of the list, the city with the highest level of stress was New York City, mainly due to the very high cost of living, while Dublin ranked right behind it.

The study shows that the quality of life in a city depends on many factors and that often less mentioned cities can offer a calmer and more balanced everyday life for their residents.
