A charming MAGA influencer who amassed millions of fans on Instagram has been unmasked – as an Indian male who graduated from medical school with the proceeds.

“Sam,” a 22-year-old orthopedic surgeon in training, told WIRED that he came up with the idea to sell AI-generated images of a young woman in a bikini while he was looking for money — and trying to save enough to immigrate to the U.S. after graduation.

He turned to Google's Gemini AI for advice and decided to create an "attractive girl" specifically designed for the "MAGA/conservative" movement, after the software told him that "conservative audiences (particularly older men in the US) often have higher disposable incomes and are more loyal," according to WIRED.

According to her profile, she was a registered nurse with the look of Jennifer Lawrence who offered provocative posts to lonely conservative men online.

One post showed him firing a rifle with the caption: "If you want a reason to stop following him: Christ is king, abortion is murder, and all illegal immigrants should be deported."

Sam told the magazine: “Every day I wrote something pro-Christian, pro-Second Amendment, pro-life, anti-abortion, anti-immigration.”

The account "exploded" and Emily Hart had 10,000 followers within a month.

Every video he posted garnered millions of views and brought him more followers.

He then capitalized on the allure of the AI ??model — selling MAGA-themed T-shirts and creating an account on OnlyFans competitor Fanvue, where paid subscribers could access inappropriate AI-generated content.

Fanvue has differentiated itself from OnlyFans by allowing artificial intelligence-generated content on its platform, the media outlet said.

This move made him a huge success — and Sam was soon earning thousands of dollars a month.

"I spent maybe 30 to 50 minutes of my day and made good money for a medical student," he recalled.

"In India, even in professional jobs, you can't make that much money. I haven't seen an easier way to make money online."

Valerie Wirtschattenger, a fellow at the Brookings Institution who studies technology and emerging democracy, told the media that “AI has made them [fake profiles] more credible and there has probably been an amplification of that.”

The tech expert added that young MAGA women are "more attention-grabbing" as most women aged 18 to 29 are liberal.

Despite the fact that MAGA fans make him rich, he still looks down on them, calling them "super stupid."

He said he also tried to create a liberal counterpart for Hart on Instagram, but “Democrats know it’s an AI scam, so they don’t engage as much,” he said.

"The MAGA crowd is made up of stupid people – like, super stupid people. And they fall prey to it," Sam said.

Sam used Grok AI to generate nude photos of Hart and uploaded them to Fanvue, where fans sent him money for exclusive content and messages.

"I was basically doing nothing," he said. "And everything was filled with money."

Hart's Instagram profile — which requires creators to disclose whether their content is generated by artificial intelligence — was removed from the platform in February for fraudulent activity, the outlet said.

A Facebook account that WIRED reported remained online has been shut down since the article about Sam's scheme was published.

The medical student added that he would have stopped posting Hart content anyway.

“I don't think I was deceiving people,” Sam said.

Instead, he hopes to focus on his studies in medical school.
