On the anniversary of the passing of renowned Albanian actor Mirush Kabashi, his daughter, Mendi Kabashi, has shared some of her emotions and memories about her father and his battle with cancer.

Mendi Kabashi told News24 that the actor was misdiagnosed by Albanian doctors and when it was correctly understood what he was suffering from, it was too late.

"It was caught at a very late stage and was not diagnosed in time, I don't want to say it, but I will say it, by Albanian doctors. It was diagnosed in the wrong way and Mirushi is not among us today because many things were done wrong here. He was treated in Turkey, initially he had a wrong diagnosis, when they went to the correct one, it was too late," she confessed.

Also, the daughter of the well-known actor revealed that he was not defeated by the disease at any point and kept it a secret from his family for a long time.

"The disease never defeated him. Even when he knew, he hid it from us so that we wouldn't have that burden, but we lost the person we loved the most. He took the entire burden on himself and went through the serious illness with sportsmanship, went on stage, and I forgot about it myself for a while.

"My father was very negligent about his health. He took care of everything and everyone and neglected himself. Despite all my mother's efforts to take care of him and go for checkups, he caught cancer in the final stages," she said.
