Virgins must have been quite shocked this week after learning that they have no chance of working with Jennifer Lopez. The latter can disqualify you from a job position only if you learn that your horoscope sign is Virgo. However, are we likely to lose a job just because of our horoscope sign?

Using one's zodiac sign to make decisions seems very biased and at the end of the day it's wrong.

A 2020 study found that participants in an experiment conducted in China (including a group of human resources professionals) were less willing to hire candidates whose resumes indicated that they belonged to the sign of Virgin. This is because of their perceived unpleasant features.

Even in China, a good part of people deliberately avoid Virgos (those born between August 23 and September 22), as partners, as employees, friends, etc. - just because they are perceived (unfairly) as critical, annoying, obsessed with cleanliness, etc.

When the research team did a comparative study on astrological stereotypes with US participants, they found that, overall, Americans were less likely than their Chinese counterparts to agree that knowing one's astrological sign should affect one's new job .

At the end of the experiment, it turned out that Cancers were viewed most negatively by the majority of people. However, horoscope signs are an interesting topic to discuss and entertain in your free time, but they can never represent you 100%, much less lose your job over it.

Zodiac signs do not predict either performance at work or our effectiveness there, but although people know this many career professionals consult astrologers before hiring someone or before taking important steps in their work.
