Dubai, known for its stunning architecture, continues to amaze the world with bold new projects. After iconic buildings like the Burj Khalifa and the artificial islands "The World", now comes another innovative project that promises to transform the city's skyline.

The new project, called “Therme Dubai – Islands in the Sky,” will be 100 meters high and will feature hanging botanical gardens, pools filled with thermal and mineral waters, and spaces for cultural and social activities. This project comes from Therme Group, a global developer of wellness resorts.

This modern complex will be built in Zabeel Park, next to the Dubai Royal Palace. According to a press release from Therme Group, this project aims to welcome 1.7 million visitors each year, setting a new standard.

“Dubai is a city that understands that the future must be built with well-being at its core,” said Therme Group founder and CEO Robert Hanea. “We are shaping how cities can integrate nature, water and culture to improve the quality of life on a large scale. Therme Dubai – Islands in the Sky will be a global model for what can be achieved when ambition and expertise come together.”

Designed by renowned architectural firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R), the structure will consist of a series of botanical gardens located on different floors of the tower. Architect Elizabeth Diller, one of the founding partners of DS+R, described the project as an “oasis in the sky” that rises from a lake and offers a multifaceted experience of well-being.

"Each island is a platform for thermal pools, terraces and lush vegetation inside and out. Each offers a unique atmosphere and is oriented towards stunning views of the Dubai skyline," said Diller.

Visitors will be able to enjoy unique experiences, from the intense heat of saunas and steam rooms to the coolness of mineral pools. During the day, the complex will have a relaxing and meditative atmosphere, while at night it will offer music, artistic performances and various events.

One of the most impressive aspects of the project is its commitment to sustainability. Therme Group has announced that 90% of the water used in the thermal pools will be recycled, while 80% of the fresh air and cooling needs will be provided by clean energy sources.

Construction of the project will begin in 2026 and is expected to be completed by 2028.

Therme Dubai – Islands in the Sky is just one of many major architectural projects expected to open in Dubai in the coming years. Among the most important constructions is the Burj Azizi, a tower that will become the second tallest building in the world at a height of 725 meters (2,379 feet). Consisting of 131 floors, this building will include luxury apartments, a “seven-star” hotel and a vertical shopping mall. According to Azizi Developments, this tower will break several world records, including the highest hotel lobby, the highest nightclub and the highest observation platform.

Also expected to open this year is Ciel Dubai Marina, the world's tallest hotel. Standing at 365 meters tall, the hotel will have more than 1,000 rooms and suites spread over 82 floors.
