During a live report on the theft of a journalist's house from Chile, Nicolas Krumm, faced an unexpected.

A parrot landed on his shoulder and took the earphone that the journalist had put in his ear and flew away, causing the interruption of the live broadcast for a few moments.

He was seen in the video signaling his cameraman to focus on the unexpected guest.

The astonished journalist, who works for Chilevision, tried to retrieve the headset again, but failed because the parrot disappeared.

"He just stole my headset," shouted the astonished journalist.

He explained later in the studio: We were doing a midday broadcast and I felt something next to me and I knew it was a parrot. I tried to alert the cameraman because it was picturesque and I thought it was not something that happens every day. There are people who spend years training parrots to get them to stand on their shoulders. The parrot had seen us from the nearby railing and I think my earpiece caught her eye because she was looking at it out of the corner of her eye before she picked it up.

I had to keep talking because we were in the middle of a live broadcast. Just when I'm sure the cameraman has seen the parrot, he takes the headset from me. It wasn't something I wanted to comment on at that moment, because we were dealing with a sensitive topic that was a burglary in an apartment, and I considered it the right thing to continue the broadcast," said journalist Nicolas Krumm.

Nicolas also revealed that his cameraman had managed to find the earpiece nearby during a subsequent search.
