Forget the drugs as frequent sex can be the key to avoiding some diseases.

A specialist in Chinese medicine says that regular sex is essential for good health. He discovered how often we should have sex based on our age.

Nina Cheng uploaded a video on TikTok saying: Did you know that insufficient sex is considered a cause of disease in traditional Chinese medicine? While traditional Chinese medicine often emphasizes the potential long-term effects of excessive sexual activity, many do not realize that insufficient sex is also considered a cause of disease.

So how often should you have sex to keep diseases at bay? Cheng drew on the 2,000-year-old sex manual Su Nu Jing to provide answers. According to the manual, people in their 20s should have more sex, which is every four days. 30-year-olds should have sex every eight days, while 40-year-olds should have sex every 16 days. Things slow down as middle age progresses. 50-year-olds should have sex once every three weeks. 60-year-olds should have sex only once a month for good health. The sex guru has a solution even for those who don't have a partner, saying that even with self-pleasure, diseases can be avoided as long as they reach orgasm.

Scientists have a different opinion

However, scientists argue that both men and women should have orgasms more often than Su Nu Jing advises. For men, research from Harvard University found that frequent ejaculations may be the key to avoiding prostate cancer.

A study of almost 32,000 men found that high levels of sexual activity can reduce the risk of prostate cancer by 33%. The ideal number of ejaculations is 21 a month, or more than five times a week, researchers insist. Meanwhile, women should climax almost every second day. Detroit doctor Andrea Pennington says women should have at least three orgasms a week. "The benefits are numerous. Relieving stress, dealing with depression and anxiety are some of them."
