Diplomatic channels have leaked details of Donald Trump's proposed peace plan for the war in Ukraine, which is expected to be announced within two weeks. According to reports from the Daily Mail and Ukrainian newspaper Strana, the former US president is calling for a ceasefire by April 20 and foresees the reconstruction of Ukraine being covered by Europe at a cost of $486 billion.

The plan also includes halting Ukraine's NATO membership aspirations for at least a decade and creating a demilitarized zone run by European troops, but without direct U.S. involvement. In addition, Ukraine would recognize Russian sovereignty over the annexed regions and withdraw troops from the Russian Kursk region.

Despite the fact that talks between Trump and Putin are said to begin by February 20, Zelensky's government remains aloof from these negotiations. Meanwhile, Moscow has given positive signals about the plan, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov describing Trump as "welcome to Russia whenever he wants to visit."
