The deputies of the Socialist Movement in Serbia have submitted to the Speaker of the Assembly of Serbia a proposal for a Resolution for Serbia's membership in BRICS.

The signatories of this proposal are the deputies of the party whose chairman is sanctioned by the USA, Aleksandër Vulin, Bojan Torbica and Gjorgje Komlenski, who are part of the coalition partners with the Serbian president, Aleksandër Vucic.

"Aware that the world we live in is changing irreversibly, we express the need for opening a broad social dialogue before the public of the Republic of Serbia for the indisputable fact that the so-called European path of Serbia has a clear alternative to embodied in the process of joining the BRICS organization, as the most current global economic-political integrative process at present", says their proposal-resolution.

BRICS is an acronym that refers to Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The BRICS countries function as a loose organization that aims to further economic cooperation among member countries and increase their economic and political standing in the world.

The alliance has received a lot of attention in recent days, pushed by top Russian politicians who say they want to create a world with a multipolar economy, as the Russian ruble is in free fall due to Western sanctions.
