President Donald Trump has declared 'persona non grata', removing the right to access state offices and classified information, for Antony Blinken, the former Secretary of State, and Jake Sullivan, the former National Security Advisor, White House officials said on Saturday.
"Bad guy. Take away his permits," Trump told the New York Post about Blinken, Biden's Secretary of State.
The move came a day after Trump announced he had removed the security clearance for his predecessor, Joe Biden, barring him from access to daily intelligence information.
Trump also removed security clearances for Biden's Deputy Attorney General, Lisa Monaco, who helped coordinate the Justice Department's response to the January 6, 2021, attacks on the Capitol.
They added that Trump also removed security clearances for New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who have led legal cases against Trump.
Although these revocations may not have an immediate impact, they are another sign of the division in Washington.
Former American presidents have traditionally received intelligence information to assist sitting presidents with advice on national security and foreign policy.
In 2021, Biden revoked security clearance for Trump, who was a former president at the time.
