Donald Trump recently announced that he plans to turn himself in to a Georgia state court on Thursday to face election meddling charges following his 2020 loss.

A judge in Atlanta, who is overseeing the former president's case, has set bail at $200,000.

The deal says Trump can be released pending trial as long as he doesn't try to intimidate witnesses.

Trump has denied 13 charges, including false statements.

"The defendant will not take any action to intimidate witnesses," the court filing said Monday.
It was signed by Fulton County District Attorney Fanny Willis, who is overseeing the case, and Trump's lawyers.

Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social: "Can you believe it? I'm going to Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fanny Willis."

He also wrote that the bail shows that the district attorney must have thought he might try to flee the US.

Barricades have been erected outside the court ahead of Trump's expected surrender this week, the BBC reports.

Police said on Monday that the barricades would remain in place until Saturday. The 19 accused have until noon local Friday to turn themselves in for the proceedings.

Trump was accused last week along with his co-defendants of trying to win over the Georgia electorate by meddling in the state's election results after his 2020 loss to Democrat Joe Biden.
