Moments of terror in Antalya, when a male lion named Zeus escaped from his cage at the Manavgat Animal Park and immediately after that attacked a family sleeping in a field, slightly injuring a man.

However, the killing of the lion by hunters and the images that circulated on social media have opened discussions about whether the animal should have been killed or simply drugged.

As announced, legal proceedings have already been initiated in accordance with the relevant articles of the Turkish Penal Code and an investigation has been launched within the framework of the Animal Protection Law and the Regulation on the Establishment of Zoos and Wildlife Parks.
