China-Taiwan tension takes the form of a "thriller"

After tension, diplomatic incidents and Chinese military exercises, the situation in Taiwan has taken on the nuances of a "thriller" movie.

One of the military areas where Taiwan is most advanced and which it considers as a priority in response to a possible attack by the People's Republic of China is the missile system.

It is this delicate sector that has suffered a significant blow with the death of 57-year-old Ou Yang Li-hsing, one of the brightest minds of the National Institute of Science and perhaps the foremost authority on rocketry.

He was found dead in his hotel room. It was his staff who found him dead with some medicine in hand. Although suffering from cardiovascular disease, only a few days ago, Li-hsing was at the Jiupeng military base, where it is thought that Taiwan will begin a series of missile tests, a day after the Chinese ones.

The deceased, who once held the post of Deputy Minister of Defense, in the official version died of natural causes, but social networks are not lacking in theories from the most diverse.

Many fear a new strategy by Beijing, a "decapitation strike" which means the slow elimination of a country's leaders, and which could be seen as a good compromise for China to avoid a war between "fellow nations".

The shot in Taipei was heard. Even the death of Ou Yang Li-hsing is seen as the reason for the lack of timely signaling by the Taiwanese forces of the Chinese missiles that crossed the territory, and were then notified only by Japan.

Tensions between China and "sister" Taiwan, dating back to World War II, reached a climax a few days ago with the visit to the capital Taipei of Congress leader Nancy Pelosi, the most senior US official to visit Taiwan in 25 years. This initiative was followed by Beijing's harsh reaction and a series of exercises that have practically surrounded the island of almost 24 million people for days.
