Phone call with Trump/ Bulgaria wants the US to allow visa-free travel for its

Donald Trump/ Rumen Radev

Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said on Wednesday that he spoke with US President Donald Trump on the phone and raised the issue of visa-free travel for Bulgarian citizens to the US .

"In my conversation with the US president, I insistently raised the issue of lifting US visas for Bulgarian citizens and I expect this issue to be urgently considered," Radev said before chairing a cabinet meeting.

Since Bulgaria joined the EU, the issue of visa-free travel to the US has been a priority for Bulgarian diplomacy.

The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry launched an information campaign a year ago with Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova , who has been moving to Hollywood for years, under the slogan "You don't need an Oscar to get a visa to the US."/ Reuters
