"I was 1 hour away from the order" - Donald Trump warns: We will

US President Donald Trump has said the United States could launch new attacks on Iran, significantly increasing tensions between Washington and Tehran at a delicate diplomatic moment.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said he was very close to deciding on a military strike but had postponed it because of signs of progress in diplomatic talks. He claimed the decision was practically made and that only the intervention of negotiators had temporarily stopped it.

"You were an hour away from making a decision to act today," Trump declared, adding that the situation changed after the Iranian side, according to him, asked for more time for negotiations.

The US president also stressed that Iran is facing great pressure and that its leaders are "looking for a deal," while warning that the timeframe for a diplomatic solution is very limited and could last only a few days.

According to him, if an agreement is not reached, the US will again consider the military option, citing concerns about the Iranian nuclear program.

In parallel with the political statements, the US Treasury Department has announced the imposition of new sanctions on Iran, including individuals, companies and ships linked to various economic and transportation sectors.

This development comes at a time when US-Iran relations remain tense, while diplomatic efforts to curb Iran's nuclear program continue to be fragile and unclear.
