An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck Turkey, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported.
The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers, 21 kilometers from the city of Malatya, in eastern Turkey.
So far, there are no reports of injuries or material damage.
According to eyewitness accounts published on the EMSC website, the earthquake was strong and tremors were felt in both Syria and Cyprus.
