US authorities are continuing to block traffic in many areas of Los Angeles affected by massive fires that have so far caused at least 10 deaths. So far, over 10,000 buildings have been burned with damage said to have reached billions of dollars. Two of the 4 fire sources are still out of control.
Looting in areas where evacuation orders have been issued remains a problem for authorities. So far, at least 20 people have been arrested for burglaries of homes and businesses.
Satellite images from the renowned company Maxar show how entire neighborhoods, some with extremely expensive homes, were reduced to ashes in a matter of hours.

There are also burned houses in Malibu on the Pacific coast, which before the fires was one of the most beautiful in the area.

The only people allowed to enter these areas are firefighters, emergency responders and local residents. Those who violate the orders can be arrested or fined. Authorities say the curfew will be “strictly enforced” to increase public safety, protect property and prevent break-ins or looting in areas where residents have been evacuated.

"We don't joke about this," the sheriff warned, saying "we don't want anyone to take advantage of the disaster."
A man has been arrested after allegedly trying to start a fire in the Woodland Hills area, police said today. He is being questioned, but it is not yet known if arson charges will be filed.

In total, about 10,000 firefighters and 600 National Guard soldiers are fighting on several fronts. 1,059 fire engines, 143 water tankers and 116 vehicles are still in action. Helicopters and firefighting planes are operating from the air.
– The Palisades Fire has burned over 80,000 acres and remains almost completely out of control. More than 3,000 firefighters and other personnel are battling the fire. Hazardous weather conditions are expected with strong winds.
– The Eaton Front has burned over 48,000 hectares and is still almost uncontrollable. 1,500 people are operating on this front.
– The Hurst Front has burned over 3,000 hectares and is partially contained. Evacuation orders have been lifted.

– The Kenneth front is partially contained, but has burned 4,000 hectares. Evacuation orders have also been lifted here.
At the moment, the number of people who have been ordered to evacuate is 153,000 and another 166,800 are ready to do so if asked.
