Tesla CEO and the world's richest man Elon Musk has vowed to reduce his influence in US government after his electric car company suffered a sharp drop in profits and sales earlier this year.

Musk has been at the helm of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) since last year.

But Musk has recently decided to reduce his commitment at the head of this department, starting next month.

Musk has said to foreign media that he will only spend two or three days of his time on "DOGE".

We recall that his involvement in politics, in the Donald Trump administration, has caused protests and boycotts, negatively impacting the performance and development of the Tesla company.

On Tuesday, the firm reported a 20% drop in car sales for the first three months of the year, compared with the same period last year, while profits fell more than 70%.
