A young woman has died in the US from what doctors say is excessive water consumption.
Ashley Summers, 35, was with her husband and two children on July 4 by a lake in Indiana. She had been unable to drink water for a long time and felt dehydrated.
According to the evidence, she consumed 1.8 litres of water over a period of about 20 minutes to quench her thirst. When she returned home she collapsed to the ground after suffering brain snaments. The 35-year-old lost consciousness until she died.
At the hospital, doctors diagnosed him with water toxins, also called hyponatremia, a condition when the body consumes large amounts of water and has low amounts of sodium.
