A boat with immigrants overturned in the Drina river, 7 victims are suspected

At least 7 migrants have been declared missing and are suspected to have lost their lives after a boat with migrants overturned in the Drina River in Serbia.

According to preliminary data, illegal immigrants were trying to cross illegally from Serbia to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Evidence from the scene indicates that at the time the boat overturned, there were 25 people inside it, while only 18 of them reached the shore, including 3 children.

A search and rescue operation has gone to the area and is searching the river for the missing migrants.

"This morning, around 05:00, the border police in Llubovi were informed by the border authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also by the citizens, that during the night a ship with immigrants sank in the Drina. They were trying to cross the river from Serbia from the town of Dërlaca", said Minister Dacic regarding this event.
