Paris bans electric scooters
Parisians voted overwhelmingly against electric scooters.

It will soon no longer be possible to rent electric scooters in Paris. "From September 1, there will be no more electric scooters in Paris. This is a victory for local democracy," said Mayor Anne Hidalgo.

Parisians voted overwhelmingly to ban electric scooter rentals in the city. In a survey of citizens 89% were in favor of abolishing rental scooters.

However, only 7.46% of the approximately 1.3 million registered residents participated in the vote. Despite this, Paris considers the result of the citizens' survey as binding.
