"It is Turkey's duty to stop the bloodshed in Gaza, which is being carried out in front of the eyes of the international community," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently declared.
Speaking at a local inauguration ceremony, Erdogan said Turkey has an obligation to "save the Palestinians from the oppression of Israel."
"We are doing and will continue to do more than is visible," Erdogan said, referring to Turkey's efforts for the Palestinian people.
"Turkey will never leave its brothers and sisters in Gaza alone," he said.
"It is our historic responsibility to denounce the crimes of those who support this immoral and disgusting massacre in Gaza," Erdogan added.
