An Italian pilot has pulled off an incredible stunt by piloting a helicopter to the top of a cliff in Italy after losing control.

The footage was captured in Merano during an exercise by the Italian army specialized in alpine areas.

The AB-205 helicopter was taking part in training in South Tyrol when the wind caused the helicopter to lose control while attempting to land.

In the end, the pilot makes the extraordinary reaction, saving the crash that would have been fatal.
