The oligarch close to the Kremlin teases Putin's 3 conditions for peace

Well-known voices within the Russian information space repeatedly emphasize that Vladimir Putin is not interested in a negotiated solution with Ukraine. According to them, he will not accept any deal that does not result in the "total capitulation of Ukraine," according to the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

According to ISW, Russian oligarch and Kremlin supporter Konstantin Malofeev, during an interview with the Financial Times, suggested that Putin is very likely to reject any peace plan that may be proposed by Donald Trump. The only exception would be a plan that addresses Russia's "security concerns."

Malofeev's proposed terms for negotiations

Malofeev mentioned several conditions that, according to him, Putin could consider:

Reversing US policy, barring Ukraine from using long-range weapons provided by the West to strike targets in Russia.

Removal of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy from office.

A one-on-one meeting between Trump and Putin to discuss the situation in Ukraine, the future of European security, conflicts in the Middle East and Russia's expanding alliance with China.

According to ISW, Malofeev's statements clearly indicate that the Kremlin is not interested in negotiations, regardless of the party that mediates them. Although Malofeev does not hold an official government post, his influence is significant due to his close ties to top Kremlin officials. He is also the owner of the ultranationalist TV channel Tsargrad.

ISW points out that Malofeev's rhetoric clearly reflects Putin's position: a complete rejection of negotiations and a commitment to destroy the Ukrainian state through military means.

This shows that, at least for now, the Kremlin remains set on its path, leaving no room for diplomatic interventions that do not align with its strategic interests.
