Flights at Munich Airport, one of the most important air hubs in Germany, were temporarily suspended this morning after reports of the possible presence of a drone near the operating area.
According to German media, including Focus Online and Bild, airport authorities decided to halt air traffic for security reasons, while they began checks on the suspicious object found in the area near the airport.
However, Focus Online reported a little later that air activity had resumed and operations were gradually returning to normal.
As of the time of reporting, airport authorities and police had not provided an official response regarding the incident or the exact nature of the alarm.
Meanwhile, data published on the official website of Munich Airport showed that some flights scheduled until around 10:00 local time were delayed or canceled, while others continued as planned.
Authorities are expected to clarify whether it was a confirmed drone or just an alert that activated security measures at the airport.
