US President Donald Trump at the Hague summit left open the possibility that Russian President Vladimir Putin has territorial ambitions beyond Ukraine.
Asked about statements by the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, that Russia could target territories other than Ukraine, Trump said: "It's possible."
However, he added that in his opinion, Putin wants to get out of the war: " I know one thing he would like to solve, he would like to get out of this thing. It's a mess for him."
Speaking about the situation in Ukraine, he stressed: " I think Zelensky wants this to end. I feel that. And I think it's the right time to end it."
Trump stated that after this meeting, he would speak with Putin: " I'm going to speak with Vladimir Putin, let's see if we can stop this."
Trump further said that his administration stopped the escalation between Kosovo and Serbia in time a few weeks ago. "We stopped Serbia, which was about to act...", Trump said at the end of the NATO Summit, as he listed the number of conflicts he had stopped in recent weeks.
He praised himself and his administration for the good work they have done in recent weeks to ensure peace in the world. "Putin called me and said, 'Can I help you with Iran?' I said, 'No, you can help me with Russia.' Because in the last few weeks we solved the issue of India and Pakistan, Kosovo and Serbia, I think on Friday there will be Congo and Rwanda, a terrible war, where heads were cut off all over Africa," Trump said.
The US president did not provide further details about what was happening between Kosovo and Serbia, but a few days ago, Trump said that his predecessor, Joe Biden, " damaged the long-term perspective " between the two countries, with some decisions that he called "very foolish", but warned that he would "fix this thing".
Trump further said that in his first term, he stopped the war between Kosovo and Serbia, as according to him, the situation between the two countries had escalated with great intensity.
