The "Pact of the Future" is approved at the UN!

World leaders have gathered in New York to attend the UN General Assembly amid multiple global crises.

Their challenge will be to cooperate not only on major issues but also on the modernization of the international institutions that were established after the Second World War, in order to face the threats and problems of the future.

In this context, the UN adopted the so-called Future Pact, which aims to address the many challenges of the century, from conflicts to climate change to human rights, despite the objections of a group of countries led by Russia.

Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who organized the Summit for the Future, described it as a "once-in-a-generation opportunity" to rewrite human history by fostering international cooperation.

In the adopted version, the leaders pledged to strengthen the multilateral system to "keep pace with a changing world" and to "protect the needs and interests of present and future generations" in the face of "ongoing crises".
