"Among the victims are women and children", Ministry of Health in

Lebanon 's Health Ministry says Israeli military shelling across Lebanon on Monday has killed at least 100 people and wounded more than 300 others.

The ministry said that women and children were among the dead and wounded.

The Israeli military carried out airstrikes in southern and northeastern Lebanon on Monday morning.

It said it struck 300 targets in Lebanon in an effort to increase pressure on Hezbollah, the militant group designated a terrorist organization by the United States.

The military announced the new bombings in a post on the X social network, where it posted a photo of military chief Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi ordering additional strikes from army headquarters in Tel Aviv.
