Iran has presented a series of conditions in order for an agreement to be reached with the US and Israel, which would also bring an end to the war in the Middle East, the consequences of which are being felt all over the world with the increase in fuel prices and beyond.
According to Channel 12 reports, Iranian officials are seeking strong guarantees to avoid future conflicts, as well as a new agreement on the Strait of Hormuz—one of the most important points of global oil transportation. The proposal aims to establish Iranian control over this vital maritime corridor, which would have a major impact on international energy trade.
At the same time, Tehran is demanding the closure of US military bases in the Middle East, as well as financial compensation for damages caused during the conflict. These demands pose a direct challenge to the strategic interests of Washington and its allies in the region.
However, a second report suggests that there could be more flexible moves on Iran's part after the conditions. According to sources cited by the US side, Iran may be willing to freeze its ballistic missile program for a period of five years and limit uranium enrichment.
Tehran could also agree to negotiations on its stockpile of uranium enriched to 60% and allow inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency on existing centrifuges. Another important element is the possibility of stopping funding for allied armed groups in the region, such as Hezbollah and Hamas.
These developments demonstrate the high complexity of the negotiations, where issues such as control of the Strait of Hormuz, the US military presence, and the Iranian nuclear program remain key points that will determine the fate of a potential agreement and stability in the Middle East.
