Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country would "achieve all the goals of this war" and warned that "the war is not over," just days after Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire and hostage release deal.

In a speech to commemorate fallen Israeli soldiers on Thursday, as Israel marks the anniversary of the October 7 attacks, Netanyahu insisted that Israel is fighting on the front lines in the region.

"Whoever raises a hand against us already knows that he will pay a very high price for his aggression. We are determined to carry the victory to the end, a victory that will shape the course of our lives for many years," Netanyahu said.

The Israeli military intensified fighting on multiple fronts in the region following Hamas-led attacks on October 7 - launching strikes on Iran, Lebanon and Syria.

"Great challenges still await us, from enemies who seek to rearm. Great challenges and alongside them, dramatic opportunities to expand the circle of peace," he added.

Earlier this week, Israeli and Hamas officials released more than 1,700 Palestinians held by Israel without charge, 250 Palestinian prisoners and 20 surviving hostages. But in Israel, some of that relief has been eclipsed by anger over the delay in releasing the hostages held by Hamas.

Netanyahu vowed again on Thursday to "return all hostages."

Two years of Israeli bombing have devastated large parts of Gaza, complicating efforts to recover some of the bodies of dead hostages and rescue tens of thousands of Palestinians from the rubble.
