The so-called "Transnistrian Congress" will ask Moscow to annex Transnistria to Russia.

According to a politician quoted by INFOTAG, the so-called deputies of all levels of Transnistria, a region in Moldova bordering Ukraine, will approve a request to Moscow regarding the admission of the separatist region to the Russian Federation.

Ciorba drew attention to the fact that the meeting will take place a day before Putin's speech to the Federal Assembly. The Transnistrian opposition does not rule out that this directive for the organization of the congress comes from Moscow itself.

Ghenadie Ciorba assumes that on February 29, Putin will announce this request to the Federal Assembly, which will decide to proceed with the request.

The oppositionist Ciorba believes that the assembly in Tiraspol and the protest organized there recently against the so-called economic pressures of the Republic of Moldova are meant to show that the people of Transnistria are against Chisinau.

"This is where the recent statement of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov comes from, that Moscow will not allow its citizens in Transnistria to suffer," said Ciorba.

He called on the so-called deputies of the region to prevent the adoption of this decision, which would give Putin "a legitimate excuse to strike the territory of the Republic of Moldova, including Transnistria, under any pretext."
