Who is the prime minister who will prepare Greece for the June 25 elections?

The President of the Court of Auditors , Ioannis Sarmas, has assumed the temporary position of Prime Minister of Greece, to prepare the country for new elections that will be held on June 25 .

Sarmas will be received by President Katerina Sakellaropoulou at 13:00 at the Presidential Palace , where, according to the Constitution, he will be given the task of mandating the interim government.

This move came after all the leaders of the political parties could not form the government.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the new parliament will be sworn in after the May 21 elections, and then this parliament will be dissolved on Monday.

On June 25, the second election round will take place with the electoral law providing for bonus mandates for the party that wins the highest percentage of votes.

If the New Democracy has the same result, then with the new counting it gains 30 bonus deputies, from 146 to 176. Thus, Greece will have an independent government, with a clear mandate of 4 years.
