China tests a non-nuclear hydrogen bomb

Chinese scientists have developed a new hydrogen-based bomb that uses magnesium hydride.

During the tests, the explosion of a 2 kg device created a fireball with a temperature of over 1000 degrees Celsius, lasting 2 seconds.

No further details of the tests have been released. The development is being carried out by researchers at the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), which is also involved in the production of underwater weapons.

The creators of the device claim that the intensity of the explosion can be precisely controlled.

This allows targeting of targets over a large area.
