The head of the "Brothers of Italy" party, who is expected to be the new prime minister of this country, has responded harshly to the comments of the American tycoon, George Soros.
Soros has expressed regret that the Italians voted for the right-wing coalition and for Prime Minister Meloni. Over the years, Soros' relations with Meloni have been strained and accompanied by distant replies.
Recently, Meloni reacted through a video shared on social networks, calling Soros a speculator who aims to weaken the sovereignty of the countries where he operates, through the policies he promotes.
She warns that the new Italian government led by her party will pass an anti-Soros law to protect the nation, banning his foundations from funding NGOs in Italy.
"In Italy there are still people who invite George Soros to speak in public. And they call him a philanthropist, but we are talking about a speculator, who in 1992 cost us several billion liras to get rich. And what would he teach us? George Soros now goes on to say that he is worried about how the Italians voted and we hope that there will be more in the future. If the government does its job, as it wants, the Brothers of Italy law will be passed to prevent people like him from funding non-governmental organizations (also known as NGOs) that favor irregular immigration. Because their goal is to weaken sovereignty, states and to gain speculators. Soros, we really hope that you will be worried because we will pass the anti-Soros law in the Parliament", said Meloni.
