A woman lost her life in a storm that hit France on Saturday, 14 people were injured, lightning and hail destroyed vineyards and flights were delayed.
The lightning that struck the Eiffel Tower in Paris caused no damage, but it did cause several fires in homes east of Paris.
Residents of southwestern France posted pictures of the city the size of tennis balls online, while drivers in the Paris region shared photos of flooded highways.
"Thousands of families were left without electricity on Sunday after a storm hit France on Saturday," said utility company Enedis.
Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin announced on Twitter that the body of a woman taken from the flood had been found under a car in the Normandy city of Rouen.
