Israel's security cabinet voted in favor of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon.
Israel's national security cabinet has voted 10-1 to approve a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, according to the prime minister's office.
In a message on the X platform, it is said that Israel "appreciates the contribution of the US in this process".
It says that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke tonight with US President Joe Biden and thanked him for his involvement in reaching the agreement in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the American leader stated that the agreement reached tonight will enter into force tomorrow at 04:00 local time.
"The war along the Israel-Lebanon border will end. This is meant to be a permanent cessation of hostilities. "What is left of Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations will not be allowed to threaten security anymore," he said.
Explaining the plan, the US president says that over the next 60 days, the Lebanese army and state security forces will deploy and regain control of their territory.
The American leader also says that the US, with support from France and other allies, "has pledged to work with Israel and Lebanon to ensure that the agreement is implemented."
Otherwise, Israel launched a military offensive months ago against the Lebanese Hezbollah militants, who join the attacks of Hamas.
