The Israeli military announced that it carried out a new wave of airstrikes overnight against the Iranian regime's strategic infrastructure in Tehran, hitting, among other things, a research and development complex used for the ballistic missile program.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, fighter jets targeted a facility used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for research and testing related to the development and production of ballistic missiles.
The Israeli military said the complex also included an underground passageway where experiments and tests were conducted as part of weapons production processes. According to the statement, the facility was located within the Revolutionary Guards' central military university, Imam Hussein University, which was also used as a staging point for operational activities, according to Ynet.
At the same time, the Israeli military said it had also struck infrastructure within the main headquarters of the Quds Force, the overseas operations arm of the Revolutionary Guard, as well as other facilities used to produce weapons and defense systems for the Iranian government.
"These attacks were carried out as part of efforts to deepen damage to key structures of the Iranian regime," the Israeli military statement said.
Meanwhile, officials in Iran's Kerman province reported that two planes and part of a local airport were damaged in what they described as a joint Israeli-American attack.
In another development, Iranian opposition television Iran International reported that two major Iranian banks, Bank Melli Iran and Bank Sepah, have been hit by a cyberattack and have temporarily disrupted services.
Meanwhile, tensions have also increased on the border with Lebanon. The Israeli army issued evacuation warnings for residents of several villages in southern Lebanon, while Lebanese media reported attacks in several areas, including the town of Abbassieh near Tyre.
According to the Israeli military, Hezbollah's command center and infrastructure in the area of the village of Ansar in southern Lebanon were also hit overnight, from where rockets had been fired at Israel the day before. Israel accused Hezbollah of placing military infrastructure in civilian areas, endangering the residents of Lebanon.
